Turkey Detains Over 180 Suspected ISIS Members, Thwarts Attacks on Religious Sites
Turkish police conducted extensive raids across 37 cities, resulting in the arrest of 189 individuals suspected of being affiliated with the Islamic State group. The operation, which included major cities like Ankara and Istanbul, was part of Turkey's ongoing efforts to combat terrorism. The arrests followed a recent announcement by Turkish officials that they had foiled potential attacks on churches and synagogues, and come in the wake of previous attacks claimed by the Islamic State, such as the 2017 Istanbul nightclub shooting.
