Second Circuit voids $16bn YPF judgment, redrawing Argentina litigation risk

"Federal Appeals Court Ruling on New York's Concealed Carry Laws: Key Provisions Upheld, Parts Struck Down"

New York Attorney General Letitia James supports the decision by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to allow the enforcement of key provisions of the Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA) while lower court proceedings continue. The CCIA aims to keep guns away from sensitive locations and dangerous individuals. The upheld requirements include demonstrating good moral character, disclosing household members on permit applications, and banning concealed carry in most sensitive places. Private property owners, including places of worship, can prohibit firearms, and additional requirements such as in-person interviews and training remain in effect. The CCIA was implemented in September 2022 to strengthen concealed carry permit requirements and enhance public safety in New York.
