Honda recalls over 300,000 Accords and HR-Vs due to seat belt defect

Honda is recalling nearly 304,000 2023 and 2024 Accords and HR-Vs due to a seat belt defect that could prevent proper tightening in a crash. The affected vehicles were assembled without a rivet that secures the quick connector and wire plate, resulting in potential harm to occupants. Honda estimates that 1% of the recalled vehicles are defective and has received seven warranty claims related to the issue. No injuries or deaths have been reported. Owners will be notified to bring their vehicles to authorized dealers for replacement, and those who have already paid for repairs may be eligible for refunds.
