Pokemon Go's Searching for Gold Research Day Event on June 3, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, allows Trainers to hunt for Pokemon with golden-yellow appearances in their Shiny forms. The event features five featured Pokemon, including Caterpie, Barboach, Nosepass, Magikarp, and Sableye, with Magikarp being the most recommended to farm for its Shiny form and evolution into Gyarados. Trainers can catch Shinies by spinning Photo Discs at PokeStops or encountering them in the Wild. The event also includes a special bonus where PokeStops may turn gold, allowing Trainers to find Gimmighoul Coins. A Timed Research is available for purchase in the in-game shop.
