Director John McNaughton revealed that the 1998 film "Wild Things" nearly featured a sex scene between Kevin Bacon and Matt Dillon, but it was scrapped when one of them refused to film it. The scene was originally included in the script by writer Stephen Peters, but it never made it to the final cut. McNaughton also revealed that Robert Downey Jr. was initially slated to play Dillon's character, but they went with Dillon instead due to Downey Jr.'s substance-abuse issues at the time.
