Top Alabama Schools Earn 'A' Ranking on 2023 Report Cards
More than 700 public schools in Alabama improved their overall scores on the state's school report cards, with a higher number of schools receiving A's and B's compared to last year. However, there was also an increase in the number of schools receiving F's. Four schools achieved a perfect score of 100, while twelve school districts had all schools earning A's. Two virtual schools showed significant improvement, and public charter schools generally had low grades. The report cards assess factors such as academic achievement, growth, graduation rates, college- and career-readiness, and chronic absenteeism.
