"Remembering the Devastation: 50th Anniversary of Sayler Park and Xenia Tornadoes"

It has been 50 years since two F5 tornadoes tore through Sayler Park and Xenia as part of the 1974 tornado super outbreak, which saw 148 tornadoes devastate parts of the south and midwest, leaving 319 dead. The Sayler Park twister first touched down in Rising Sun, crossed the Ohio River into Boone County, and then hit Sayler Park, killing three people and injuring over 200. The tornado also devastated Xenia, killing 33 people, and remains one of the worst tornadoes in Ohio's history. In total, 11 tornadoes struck the Tri-State on April 3, resulting in eight deaths.

Tragic Electrical Accident Claims Worker's Life in Sayler Park

A worker, identified as Charles Stewart, died in an electrical accident while working on utility lines in Sayler Park. The incident caused a power outage in the area, and more than 300 customers were affected. The incident is being investigated as an accidental death, and the company Stewart worked for, the Bowlin Group, expressed condolences to his family. Witnesses reported seeing a worker in a bucket truck get electrocuted while working on a utility pole.
