Governor Kathy Hochul provided an update on the search for 9-year-old Charlotte Sena, who is missing from Saratoga County. An AMBER alert was activated, as law enforcement officials believe she is in imminent danger of serious harm.
The suspect in the shooting of Saratoga County sheriff's deputies, Anthony Zaremski, had a lengthy criminal history, including drug charges and reckless endangerment. He was charged with attempted murder in 2020 but pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in 2021. Zaremski was booked on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment in 2022 and was bailed out a day later. He was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center on Tuesday morning.
Two Saratoga County sheriff's deputies were wounded and a suspect was fatally shot by police during the execution of a federal search warrant against the suspect for drugs and weapons possession at a suburban apartment complex in Clifton Park. The suspect, Anthony Zaremski, had a lengthy criminal record and allegedly fired at police before being shot in the head. Other warrants executed in Albany and Saratoga counties yielded hundreds of thousands of fentanyl and ecstasy pills, multiple grams of cocaine, and 50 rifles and handguns. The state attorney general’s office will be part of the investigation.
