All criminal charges against Alec Baldwin over the fatal shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins have been dropped, weeks before the trial was set to begin. The involuntary manslaughter charges are expected to be dismissed soon by newly appointed special prosecutors, but law enforcement will continue to investigate the events of the tragic day. Baldwin's co-defendant and ex-Rust armourer Hannah Guiterrez-Reed is still facing criminal charges. The sudden developments come after Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer granted Baldwin permission to skip the preliminary hearing.
