"Redefining Lavatory Design: Textured Toilets and Eye-Catching Faucets"
Designer Samuel Ross has created the Formation 02 smart toilet for Kohler, featuring an attention-grabbing orange color and an asymmetric shape reminiscent of brutalist architecture. The toilet, set to debut at Milan design week, is designed to be a "functional sculpture" and will retail at roughly $25,000 per unit. Ross, known for his work in fashion, sees this collaboration as an opportunity to bring a new perspective to traditional sanitaryware, aiming to create a design that is more "extroverted" and sculptural. The toilet includes integrated tech such as a heated seat, nightlight, and touchscreen remote, and will be unveiled at Milan design week before finding its first permanent location at the Milanese art and design gallery Spazio Maiocchi.
