Mountain Biking Tops List for Spinal Cord Injuries, Study Finds
A study from British Columbia reveals a significant number of spinal cord injuries (SCIs) related to mountain biking, highlighting severe physical, emotional, and financial impacts. Over 14 years, 58 cases were recorded, with most injuries occurring in the cervical spine, leading to severe impairments. The economic burden is substantial, with lifetime costs exceeding $4 million for severe cases.
