Kidnapped American Woman and Child Rescued in Haiti
An American woman, Alix Dorsainvil, and her young child have been freed and are safe after being kidnapped in Haiti roughly two weeks ago. Dorsainvil, who works as a nurse for the nonprofit El Roi Haiti, was taken from the organization's compound outside of Port-au-Prince on July 27. The U.S. Department of State has issued a travel advisory for Haiti, warning of widespread kidnapping and violent crimes, including those targeting U.S. citizens.
