Sadie Stanley, known for her role in Freeform's Cruel Summer, has been cast as the romantic lead in Sony Pictures' upcoming Karate Kid installment, alongside Ben Wang, Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, and Joshua Jackson. The new film will bring the story to the East Coast and focus on a teen from China finding strength through martial arts and mentorship. Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, the movie is set for release on Dec. 13, 2023. Stanley, a rising actress, has previously starred in various TV shows and films, including the live-action Kim Possible TV movie and Romano's directorial debut, Somewhere in Queens.
