"Top Drivers Dominate Qualifying at Brainerd NHRA Nationals"
Doug Kalitta, Ron Capps, and Greg Anderson took the early qualifying leads in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock respectively at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals. Kalitta set the pace in Top Fuel with a strong 3.757, while Capps claimed the provisional pole in Funny Car with a 3.894. Anderson emerged as the leader in Pro Stock with a 6.597 run.
