L.A. Woman Behind Multimillion-Dollar Liens Arrested on False-Document Charges
Rita Ortiz was arrested in Los Angeles on 25 counts of filing false or forged documents after allegedly placing multimillion-dollar liens on homeowners (including Benedict Canyon Drive) for services not provided. She is being held on $700,000 bail. LAPD says Ortiz is not licensed to provide real estate services and the investigation is ongoing.
