Medicaid Coverage Slashed in Georgia, Leaving Thousands Uninsured
Over 95,000 Georgians lost their Medicaid health coverage last month as Georgia implemented requalification requirements for enrollees. The state is asking all 2.8 million beneficiaries to reapply and reviewing cases to remove those who no longer qualify. The majority of those dropped might still be eligible but lost coverage due to missing paperwork. Georgia's rate of disenrollment is the fifth highest in the nation.
