Murder charge dropped for Red River shooter.

The first-degree murder charge against Jacob Castillo, a member of the Water Dogs Motorcycle Club, involved in the Red River shootout on Memorial Day weekend, has been dropped by the district attorney's office in Taos County due to an ongoing investigation. Castillo claimed self-defense in the court document, but the New Mexico State Police Chief Tim Johnson said the evidence shows otherwise. Castillo had his first court appearance Friday afternoon and will stay behind bars until his detention hearing, which is expected to take place on June 13.
