Michigan's New Hands-Free Driving Law: No Cellphone Use at Red Lights
Michigan's new hands-free driving law prohibits the use of cellphones while driving, including at red lights. Drivers can no longer make phone calls or send text messages if it involves holding a cellphone. Violations can result in fines, community service, and driving improvement courses. However, drivers can use hands-free navigation systems and voice command features built into their cars.
