Trail Assault Suspect Arrested for 2003 Fairmount Park Murder and Rape
Elias Diaz, the man arrested for a series of knife attacks in Pennypack Park last month, has now been charged with rape and murder in a 20-year-old cold case in Fairmount Park. DNA evidence collected from Diaz linked him to the infamous Fairmount Park rape cases, including the 2003 killing of Rebecca Park. Diaz faces charges of rape, murder, aggravated indecent assault, abuse of a corpse, and other crimes. The investigation into the 2003 murder and other related rapes is ongoing.
