Deadly shootings involving US Border Patrol agents in Arizona and San Ysidro
The FBI and Tohono O'odham Nation police are investigating the fatal shooting of Raymond Mattia, a tribal member, by U.S. Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona. Mattia had called Border Patrol for assistance in removing migrants who had trespassed into his yard, but was shot multiple times for an unknown reason only two feet from his front door. The incident occurred in the Meneger's Dam community of the Tohono O'odham Nation and is under review by Customs and Border Protection's Office of Professional Responsibility.
