Mountain Lion Attacks on Vacationers in the West
A group of rafters fought off a mountain lion attack using their paddles in a remote area of the White Mountain Apache Reservation in Arizona. One rafter was injured, while a 64-year-old New Mexico resident is expected to survive. Officials are currently trying to locate the lion with the help of hunters and hound dogs. Gila County officials are urging caution and advising people to avoid wildlife and refrain from feeding wild animals.
