London Theatre Condemns Racial Abuse Against 'Romeo & Juliet' Cast
The Duke of York Theatre in London's West End has condemned the "deplorable" racist abuse directed at the cast of its upcoming production of Romeo & Juliet, particularly towards newcomer Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, who is cast as Juliet opposite Tom Holland. The theatre company emphasized the need to support and protect its artists from online harassment, stating that any abuse will not be tolerated and will be reported. The production opens on May 23, with previews starting on May 11, and runs until August 3, featuring a talented cast including Freema Agyeman, Michael Balogun, and Tomiwa Edun.
