FBI Investigates Racial Extremism as Motive in Ohio Walmart Shooting
The FBI has stated that the white gunman who opened fire inside an Ohio Walmart, injuring four people before killing himself, may have been motivated by racial extremism. Evidence, including journal writings, suggests that the shooting was partially inspired by racially violent extremist ideology. The victims include two Black women, a white woman, and a white man. The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Benjamin Charles Jones, entered the store carrying a long gun and shot an undetermined number of rounds before turning the weapon on himself. The incident occurred just days before Thanksgiving.
