Mortal Kombat 1 has released its December update, which includes general fixes and adjustments, the addition of Quan Chi as a roster character, and the upcoming arrival of Khameleon in January 2024. The update also introduces a new season focused on Sub-Zero, a new finisher called Slay Bells, a winter-themed arena variant, and holiday skins for Kitana, General Shao, and Reptile. Various character-specific adjustments, online improvements, invasion fixes, and practice mode enhancements are also included in the patch.

"Quan Chi's Arrival Brings Server Maintenance and Exciting Updates to Mortal Kombat 1"

Mortal Kombat 1 will undergo server maintenance on December 14 for the arrival of Quan Chi and a wider update to the game. During the maintenance, online modes and rewards will be unavailable. The update will include the addition of Quan Chi for Kombat Pack 1 owners, as well as a Wi-Fi indicator and the ability to turn down matches based on connection. Other changes include a new move for Darrius and a nerf to Kung Lao's low hat throw. More information and patch notes will be available soon.

"Sinister Sorcerer Quan Chi Takes Center Stage in Mortal Kombat 1 Gameplay Trailer"

NetherRealm Studios has released a gameplay trailer for Quan Chi, the next character to join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster. The trailer showcases Quan Chi's ability to summon portals to the NetherRealm and use them for teleportation and special attacks. The trailer also features Khameleon, who uses moves from famous Mortal Kombat femme fatales to assist Quan Chi in battle. The trailer concludes with a glimpse of the next downloadable character, Peacemaker, voiced by John Cena. Quan Chi will be available for early access on December 14, with Khameleon and Peacemaker joining the roster in January and February respectively. Mortal Kombat 1 is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
