Digital Extremes Announces Layoffs and Closure of Publishing Arm
Digital Extremes, the developer of Warframe, has confirmed layoffs resulting from the closure of its publishing division. The studio will no longer be publishing the free-to-play online action-RPG Wayfinder, and control of the property will be returned to developer Airship Syndicate. The exact number of employees affected and the reason behind the decision have not been disclosed. This comes amidst a year of widespread job losses and studio closures in the gaming industry.
