Michigan State Trooper Charged with Murder for Striking Man with Cruiser
Michigan State Police Detective Sgt. Brian Keely has been charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter after allegedly striking and killing 25-year-old Samuel Sterling with a police SUV during a chase. The incident occurred on April 17, and Keely's actions were deemed grossly negligent by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Keely is set to be arraigned in Kentwood's 62-B District Court, though no date has been set.
