Camp House Fire Started by Abandoned Campfire

Chinese man jailed for scaring neighbor's chickens to death

A man in China, identified only by his surname Gu, has been sentenced to six months in prison with one year of probation for scaring to death 1,100 chickens that belonged to his neighbor with whom he was feuding. Gu had sneaked onto the chicken farm on more than one occasion, causing hundreds of birds to die in the ensuing crush. The court ruled that Gu had intentionally caused "property loss" to his neighbor and ordered him to pay compensation of 13,840 yuan ($2,015).
