Google Play System Update for December 2023 Cancelled
Google has confirmed that there will be no December 2023 Google Play System Update. The next update will be rolled out in January 2024. Google Play System Updates, also known as Project Mainline module updates, are separate from Google Play Services updates and aim to deliver security updates to key OS components without relying on phone manufacturers. The upcoming update will include a fix for an internal crash issue related to the Android Runtime module.
