Schiphol Airport Implements Noise Reduction Measures, Bans Private Jets and Late Night Flights.
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport plans to introduce a curfew by 2025, banning takeoffs from 12AM until 6AM and landings from 12AM until 5AM, and a private jet ban by 2025 to minimize noise around the airport. The airport also wants to ban "noisy" aircraft, including the Boeing 747, by 2025. These changes are expected to result in 17,500 people experiencing less "serious nuisance" and 13,000 fewer "serious sleep disturbances." The curfew will eliminate 10,000 annual flights, and the private jet ban will reduce traffic.
