
"Deadly Officer-Involved Shootings in Albuquerque and Taos"
The Albuquerque Police Department has identified the suspect involved in a deadly shooting near a McDonald's as 25-year-old Jeramiah Salyards. Salyards stabbed a victim inside a car near the drive-thru and was later shot and killed by police as he ran armed with a knife. Two bystanders were also injured during the shooting. Salyards had recently been released from prison after serving time for stabbing a city bus driver in 2020 and had previous convictions for drug possession and resisting an officer.
