Rising Incidents of Fatal Shootings Targeting Pregnant Women and Newborns in US Cities.
A pregnant woman was killed and a man was injured in a targeted shooting by two suspects armed with assault rifles in Washington DC. The woman, Samya Gill, 22, of Fort Washington, Maryland, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and gave birth before dying. The baby is in critical condition. Police believe the shooting was targeted, although they don’t know if the victims knew the shooters. The suspects’ car, a white sedan, fled the area, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
