WNBA Punishes Aces and Hammon for Pregnancy Comments and Bullying Allegations
Las Vegas Aces Coach Becky Hammon has been suspended for two games without pay by the W.N.B.A. for violating the league's policy on respect in the workplace after making comments to All-Star forward Dearica Hamby about her pregnancy. The Aces will also lose a first-round pick in the 2025 draft for promising Hamby unspecified impermissible benefits during contract negotiations. Hamby had accused an unnamed person of making "disgusting comments" and questioning her commitment to the team after she became pregnant.
