Darien Woman Faces Hate Crime Charges for Anti-Palestinian Attack
A 64-year-old woman from Darien, Alexandra Szustakiewicz, has been charged with a hate crime and disorderly conduct after allegedly confronting a man over his "Palestine" sweatshirt and attempting to hit a woman's phone at a Panera Bread in Downers Grove. The court has imposed conditions on her pre-trial release, including no contact with the victims and no entry to the Panera Bread. Her arraignment is scheduled for December 16, 2024.
