"DIY Portable PS1: Original Hardware Transformed into Handheld Gaming Dream"
Modder Mackie Kannard-Smith, also known as @YveltalGriffin, has created a true portable PlayStation 1, named the PS Hanami, using a real PS1 motherboard that was cut in half, folded, and rewired without emulation. The pocket-sized powerhouse uses XStation to load games from an SD card, features beefy stereo speakers, a Shinobi Scaler for pixel-perfect 480p VGA, and has a battery life of around 2.5 hours. The impressive project showcases talent, skill, and resourcefulness in utilizing original components to create something entirely new for retro gaming enthusiasts.
