Amazon MGM Studios is developing a TV series based on the iconic horror film "Poltergeist." The show will be set within the world of the original film, but no plot details or writer have been announced yet. "Poltergeist" was a major success upon its release in 1982, grossing $121 million worldwide and receiving three Academy Award nominations. This is the second television show set in the "Poltergeist" world, following "Poltergeist: The Legacy" which aired from 1996 to 1999. Amazon has been actively adapting well-known MGM properties since acquiring the studio, including "Robocop," "Legally Blonde," and "Barbershop."
