Deadly Police Pursuits and Shootouts in Illinois
A police K9 named Hudson was killed in the line of duty while assisting in the apprehension of a carjacking suspect in suburban Geneva, Illinois. The suspect was also fatally shot following a police pursuit that ended in a crash and shootout. Hudson was a six-year K9 veteran with the Kane County Sheriff's Office and was assigned to the department's narcotics detection unit. No other officers were injured in the incident.
