The downfall of gangster Atiq Ahmad: From murder plot to benami properties.
The murder of Umesh Pal was an attempt by gangster Atiq Ahmad and his gang to re-establish their fear among the people of Prayagraj, but it backfired. Since the murder, three of his gang members have been killed in police encounters, while others are on the run. Atiq's family members are also either on the run, in jail, or dead. Police claim that the gang feared more victims could become witnesses in cases pending against Atiq and his aides in the courts.
