Shaker Heights City Council has voted to allow former police officer Chad Hagan to purchase K-9 Igor, who had been caught in a legal dispute between Hagan and the city. The ownership of the police dog will be transferred to Hagan in exchange for funding a replacement dog and training for another officer. Hagan had offered $10,000 of his own money to buy Igor, and community members have raised nearly $13,000 to support the purchase.
