"Multiple Outback Steakhouse and Sister Restaurants Close Across the US"
The North Hills Outback Steakhouse in McCandless, PA, a longtime Australian-themed restaurant, closed after nearly three decades as part of a nationwide closure of 41 underperforming locations by Bloomin' Brands Inc., the Tampa-based company that owns the Outback chain. The decision was attributed to a review of older assets with leases from the ‘90s and early 2000s. Outback now has two remaining Pittsburgh area locations in Coraopolis and Monroeville, while Bloomin' Brands also operates other restaurant chains including Bonefish Grill, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, and Carraba's Italian Grill.
