Close Call: JetBlue Pilot's Last-Second Maneuver Prevents Head-On Collision on Colorado Runway
A near head-on collision between a JetBlue Airbus A320 and a Beechcraft B300 King Air was narrowly avoided at Yampa Valley Airport in Colorado last year. The incident occurred due to a miscommunication between the two aircraft and a lack of air traffic control at the airport. The JetBlue pilot made a last-second maneuver to avoid the collision, causing substantial damage to the plane but no injuries. The National Transit Safety Board (NTSB) concluded its two-year investigation, attributing the incident to poor communication.
