Deadly Dust Storm Causes Multiple Crashes on Illinois Interstate 55
Six people were killed and over 30 were injured in pileup crashes involving up to 80 vehicles on Interstate 55 in Illinois after a dust storm swept through the area, causing "zero visibility" conditions. The crashes involved about 20 commercial vehicles and 40 to 60 cars, including two tractor-trailers that caught fire. The highway remains closed in both directions, and drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.
