Maïwenn's period film "Jeanne du Barry" opened the Cannes Film Festival. The film follows the life of Jeanne du Barry, the courtesan and favourite of King Louis XV, played by Maïwenn herself, with Johnny Depp as the King of France. Shot on 35mm film, the movie features a prominent supporting cast and a classical-style soundtrack by Stephen Warbeck.
