"Officer Injured in I-65 Crash While Responding to Another Accident"
Pelham police officer Elizabeth Minter was severely injured after being hit by a speeding vehicle while directing traffic at a crash on Interstate 65. The driver ignored traffic control vests and emergency lights, and was taken into custody. Pelham Police Chief Brent Sugg warned against impaired driving, as there were multiple crashes over the holiday weekend involving drugs and alcohol. Minter is in stable condition but faces a long road to recovery. The Pelham Police Department is accepting donations for her recovery.
