Amanda Knox Re-Convicted for Slander in Italian Court
Amanda Knox has been re-convicted of slander by an Italian court for falsely accusing Patrick Lumumba in the 2007 murder case of her roommate, Meredith Kercher. Despite the European Court of Human Rights ruling that her rights were violated during questioning, the Florence court sentenced her to three years, which she is not expected to serve due to time already spent in prison. Knox, who was accompanied by her husband, expressed her hope to clear her name.
