Elderly Man Jailed for Fatally Stabbing Wife in Pancake Dispute
An 85-year-old man in Washington D.C. allegedly killed his 81-year-old wife during an argument over whether he should have pancakes for breakfast. The man, who had lost weight due to physical and psychiatric disorders, stated that his wife wanted him to eat more. The argument escalated, resulting in the man stabbing his wife with a carving knife. Police found the woman's body near the front door, and the man was apprehended after being stunned with a Taser. He has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held pending a preliminary hearing. The man expressed remorse, stating that he loved his wife of 40 years and that he deserved the punishment.
