Hunt: Showdown's new live event, Tide of Shadows, introduces a formidable new boss target named Rotjaw, a female alligator with unique abilities. Players can choose to pledge their allegiance to one of three new pacts, each offering unique traits and rewards. Pledge marks can be earned by reaching event point thresholds, looting hunters, or banishing targets. The event also introduces burn traits, which can be acquired by sacrificing pledge marks at pledge posts. Event points can be earned through various activities, such as interacting with clues or rifts, banishing targets, or extracting bounty tokens. Ship altars, new event objects, provide event points when interacted with or can be destroyed for fewer points. The event runs until August 23rd.
