Suspect Apprehended for Pickpocketing at Austin City Limits
A 23-year-old man, Victor Manuel Castro Ordornez, was arrested and charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and theft by appropriation in connection with cell phone pickpocketing at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Officers responded to multiple reports of stolen phones and detained Castro-Ordonez after finding him with a bag containing 35 stolen phones. The value of the phones was estimated between $17,500 and $45,500. This incident highlights the ongoing issue of pickpocketing at the festival, with hundreds of phones being stolen each year.
