"Operation Kaveri: Indian Air Force rescues 121 Indians from conflict-torn Sudan"

The Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued 121 Indians from a small airstrip at Wadi Seyidna airport, north of Khartoum in Sudan, in a "daring night operation" using a C-130J 'Super Hercules' aircraft. The airstrip had no navigational approach aids or fuel and most critically landing lights. The IAF used electro-optical and infrared sensors to ensure the runway was free from obstructions and no inimical forces were in the vicinity while approaching the airstrip. The operation was part of the ongoing Operation Kaveri to evacuate Indian nationals from conflict-torn Sudan.

India's 'Operation Kaveri' successfully evacuates citizens from Sudan.

India has launched 'Operation Kaveri' to evacuate around 3,000 Indian citizens stranded in Sudan due to the ongoing civil war. The government has stationed ships and aircraft to bring them back home. The Indian embassy is in touch with the stranded Indians, and all Indians in Khartoum have been shifted to safer locations. The country is running short of essential supplies, and soon there could be a food shortage.
