Former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice's lawsuit dismissed after record turnover
An open records lawsuit against former Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Patience Roggensack has been dismissed after she turned over all records related to her work investigating possible impeachment of a sitting justice. The records she produced did not reveal the impeachment advice she gave to Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos. Two other former justices recommended against impeachment. The liberal watchdog group American Oversight dropped the case against Roggensack, but the open records claim against Vos remains. Vos has already produced all the records he has, and a status hearing is scheduled for January 25. Vos had considered impeachment if Justice Janet Protasiewicz did not recuse herself from a redistricting case, but he did not move forward with impeachment following the advice against it.
