A cargo ship fire that broke out in Port Newark, New Jersey, on Wednesday is still burning and expected to continue for several more days. Two firefighters have tragically lost their lives, and at least six others have been injured. The fire started on the tenth floor of the Grande Costa D'Avorio and spread to two floors above, but has been contained to the upper decks. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and efforts to extinguish it are being coordinated by multiple local, state, and federal agencies. The ship was carrying vehicles and containers, and salvage operations are underway to stabilize the vessel.
